Ravens Hollow Review

And now, without further ado, let’s dive into this new Edgar Allan Poe film, Ravens Hollow, which tells the story of a West Point cadet named Edgar Allan Poe and four other cadets during a training exercise in New York. Are ready for a serious search in a forgotten community.

The film stars Melanie Zanetti, William Mosley, Kate Dickey, Caleb Woodhouse, David Heyman, Caleb McGowan and many others and was directed by Christopher Hatton.

Raventello starts on a journey with these four people, one of them is Edgar Allan Poe and they find this guy who is hanging like a scarecrow and he is about to die and he whispers these words to Raven and he Dies there and they take his body back to the nearest town called Ravens Hollow and when they reach this town which is very gothic and very structured.

There are so many black and brown people, the only white person in this town to really attend is in this church.

Ravens Hollow Review

There is a bunch of these people near these graveyard stones and they ask them if they know this man they found and they deny that they don’t remember this man or know who he is and you Immediately it seems like this movie is going to be a little creepy, Edgar Allan Poe is going to have a little bit of mystery to solve, he’s at the forefront of trying to solve this mystery that surrounds this city.

The film has a lot of atmosphere and lots of homage to Poe using names like Lenoir and Usher and the famous voice of a beating heart and also the legend of the Raven.

The townspeople talk to Po and they always point to the crows, so there is this legend about this town and he wants to investigate everything that is really going on….

Since it is a period piece and the mystery is solved, I felt the film is progressing at a very good pace. I really like the different shots, shadows and lighting that they do in this movie, while at night it’s all dark gothic composition, there isn’t a lot of light, they use fire And in the daytime, the sky is dark grey, it’s really terrifying.

It seems like there’s a lot of death in the air, not much life in this town and a lot of people trying to hide and get away from it… called Raven they keep talking about.

Ravens Hollow Review

The costumes are well matched for the locals, they wear black because it is that kind of gothic town and most of them are light white while the cadets wear teal with a mix of brown.

The film has some graphic parts, but the film is not overly bloody, although I think the deaths are gruesome enough to grab the attention of the audience, the chilling music did a great job of making the music effective in the high and low moments. Of the movie, I really didn’t like the love story of this movie, I didn’t think it was necessary.

It felt very forced, the film also has budget restrictions that prevent it from being a dark story and because they prevent it, the film is a bit bland, I think it needs a little more spice to enhance it a bit.

Most of the scares don’t really do the trick for me, they seem too superficial, and also because of the budget, it brings the film down for me, and I think the music and atmosphere really make up for the lack of scares in this movie. Is.

So I really feel like at the end of the day, this movie is just an okay movie and not really a movie worth watching for me.

There’s a certain atmosphere, great tribute to Edgar Allan Poe, which I really like, about him and his life and what he’s really going through, but this movie doesn’t focus on his life, he just There’s an investigator and I feel like there’s a little bit of horror in this movie.

But at the same time it feels more like a mystery thriller than a horror film. So I am going to give this movie a rating of 2.75 out of 5, it is a good film.

I didn’t hate watching this movie, I enjoyed it, but I don’t think it’s a movie to watch again anytime soon

Similarities between Raven’s Hollow and Poe’s work?

Raven’s Hollow The poem may not be a true translation but there are many similarities. At one point, Charlotte (Melanie Zanetti), a mysterious, charming villager, tells Poe about the monster/bird that killed Lenore. This, like the narrator of the poem, makes his parents sad. The rest of the film is dominated by the story of Charlotte, who becomes Poe’s love interest.

Charlotte and the other villagers view the raven as an evil, demonic presence. Steady Hand Usher (get this: “The Fall of the House of Usher”) says no birds. It’s not clear to me. Soul? devil? According to Indians it is a bad medicine. It is already ahead of their time. The end of Usher’s poem refers to the raven as “Talk of Evil, Prophet Still, If Bird or Devil”. As the cadets laugh at Usher’s story, the death toll rises.

Raven’s Hollow It doesn’t have much blood or coagulation, but it does have more than one diabolical death. Poe, the film’s narrator, becomes convinced that the bird is evil. Like the narrator he falls into insanity and obsessive fear about the crows. It plays up Edgar Allan Poe’s reputation as a crazy, insane Edgar Allan Poe for good or ill.

The bird is a symbol of loss, perhaps the most important. After Lenore passed away, Charlotte’s family changed forever. After losing his teammates one after the other, Po goes crazy. Like every stanza in “The Raven,” Poe’s mental state worsens with each death he experiences. Poe consumes.
