Introducing akasha.ethereum.world | Ethereum News

High five everyone! I

Today is the 5th anniversary of the inception of Aakash Project first announced, During these 5 years, we have built 4 different decentralized social networking apps and each experiment has raised our understanding of what is possible to the next level. With each jump we started seeing things differently.

The latest leap gave us a new understanding of “Ethereum” as a living, breathing thing. Whereas in earlier versions we tried to make a social network app Feather Ethereum, in the latest version we acknowledge (and design around the fact) that Ethereum Is Social Networks.I

Ethereum is much more than a technology for freedom. Ethereum is also a world-changing community of millions of hearts and minds. And to celebrate these special 5 years together, we make the private alpha of the Ethereum world available here sky.ethereum.world,

This private alpha release is laying the foundation for a new world of Ethereum. Learn more about the vision behind the project on the refreshed homepage ethereum.world I

Towards an Unstoppable Ethereum Social Movement

Even if it was the technology that initially attracted me to the whole “blockchain” idea, it was the people I encountered that made me want to stay. Something universal beyond old concepts like nations, religion, gender, or skin color allowed me to find “my people.” It was the first time I really felt like I was a part of something bigger than myself.

Interestingly, many of the people who make up this community resonate with the ideas of “freedom” and “decentralization”. Nevertheless, we are primarily conversing on centralized Web 2 platforms that are not really designed to make the most of Ethereum and Web 3 technologies.

Most of the time we don’t stop to contemplate the effects. Sometimes we are reminded of the bad situation when we are High-profile accounts within our community are closed for no good reason or explanation. I

️ #Web2Life ️

That’s when we remember why “independence” and “decentralization” are important. That is when we are forced to look for alternatives; Inspired to make choices. To me, it is unacceptable that we remain at the mercy of centralized platforms.

We need better tools to keep in touch with each other. And not just “keep in touch”, but actually “do something” together – such as transparently managing resources and organizing intelligent responses to collective impact as a global Ethereum community.

In a moment of inspiration, one might ask: “How great if we could all come together and build a new House?” I

According to Charles McGee And in his early ’90s essay titled “The Age of Imagination: Coming Soon to a Civilization Near You,” it may actually be best route To maximize the chances of success for Ethereum. In this essay, he proposed the idea that communication systems are Key Indicators for Chances of Success in Human Communities of All Types

The most successful groups throughout human history had one thing in common: they had the best systems of communication when compared to their competition.

The most qualified communicators—whether tribe, city state, state, corporation, or nation—have (1) access to a large percentage of people (2) access to (3) high-quality information, (4) the ability to convert that information into knowledge Greater capacity and action, (5) and greater freedom to communicate that new knowledge to other members of their group.

After more than 2 years of research and development, the Ethereum World project has reached the private alpha milestone! one can think sky.ethereum.world As the seed from which a new world of Ethereum will grow. A world where we can all come together and shape it into the coolest new home of Ethereum!

Although it is like comparing apples and oranges, the new sky approach can be envisioned as a kind of WordPress to build decentralized social networking apps. With this in mind, Ethereum World is the first of thousands of open-source, modular, decentralized social networks that we refer to as the “world”.

At Aakash, we aim to provide a software framework that enables communities around the world to create their own “world” for their needs. If we follow the WordPress analogy, instead of building a blog or website, you will be creating and configuring a decentralized social network for your purpose.

Still, we have a lot of work to do before we get “there”.

At the time of writing this post, we are testing a very limited set of functionality, simulating common actions available on classic social networks: creating a profile, publishing content, following up, and more. But this is just a step. I

In its early forms, Alpha Ethereum is testing the new software architecture for the community with the first plugins and apps developed with ️ by the AKASHA team. The main objective is to test how well components, modules and plugins work together to provide a familiar social networking experience.

This would be another way of looking at the interface below, acting as a “whole” one:

Having said that, sky.ethereum.world The fastest decentralized social networking app we’ve built. sometimes. This is a reason to celebrate because the UX gap between a “decentralized” and “centralized” experience is starting to close!

While we are extremely excited about this achievement, we also don’t want to “overhype” it. It will take a lot of work until we can consider this “mainstream grade” but the initial results are super promising!

We’ll be sharing more about Aakash software architecture and performance in the coming weeks as we learn more from Private Alpha.

Looks fine! what next? I

There are plans to enter the public testing phase as soon as we reach a stable and optimized version of AKASHA Apps and Plugins. For now, we’ll give you the alpha . invite you to sign up for private alpha by sending an email to [at] ethereum.world!

A word of caution for those brave enough to consider this option – this is an alpha release that comes with ALL WARNINGS! ️ If you stumble upon bugs and errors, please check first to see if there is a problem already opened, If not, be a hero and open yourself up – thanks in advance!

Going forward, along with improvements at the code level, the AKASHA team will devote time and energy to improving documentation for anyone interested in building apps, plugins and widgets for Ethereum World. We want to make it as easy as possible for developers and organizations from the Ethereum ecosystem to integrate all kinds of awesome dapps and services.

This leads us to the next best thing we’re working on: Integration Center – a space that will enable developers to extend the functionality of Ethereum World and bring Ethereum World to their apps and services in a variety of ways. makes.

From NFTs to distributed governance systems, there is a whole universe to imagine and co-create. If this sounds interesting to you and you have a project, app or organization that should be part of Ethereum World, please keep in touch,

It is still early but we could already benefit from knowing about your biggest pain points and finding out how we can help accelerate Ethereum adoption together. I

That being said, here are some things you can expect in the near future:

  • Improve social app experience
  • Integration Center launched
  • Integrating More Ethereum Apps and Services
  • experimenting with community-managed projects and grants
  • Experimenting with participatory moderating and distributed decision making

The last 2 points are particularly challenging as we work to develop the best mix of software and legal code to enable community self-governance. This is something that is still being actively worked on to start the Ethereum World Commons as a public good governed by its community. “Decentralization” ultimately outweighs technology.

Is it difficult to simultaneously design, develop and maintain a decentralized social network? Absolutely! Is this incredibly valuable in light of the current Web 2 reality? Sure! But after our 5 year learning curve we are optimistic! It is certainly difficult, but not impossible!

The next 5 years are a ‘real world’ time to make a difference. We think the momentum is moving towards an unstoppable social movement for Ethereum – especially with Ethereum 2.0 on the horizon.
