Tesla Giga may make electric boat for Texas public park | Elon Musk News

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said automaker Giga could develop a small electric boat for Texas Public Park, known as an “ecological paradise”. Ecological paradise after comments confirmed to be under development after viewing documents Teslarati Yesterday showed that Tesla is expanding the factory to 500,000 square feet.

Yesterday, we reported that Tesla had filed to expand Giga Texas to more than 12 acres, or 500,000 square feet. Documents show that Tesla applied for an increase in its construction limit in both acres and square footage. Its new application lists 280 acres, up from 268 and 12,196,800 square feet, an increase from 11,674,080.

Musk confirmed in reply Teslarati That the expansion of Giga Texas would make way for the ecological paradise he talked about when Tesla announced it would build a factory in Austin. However, Musk said the plant would need to be more financially secure before it could begin developing land explicitly for the project. However, the application itself shows that Tesla is certainly preparing.

The Tesla CEO then shared more details about the ecological paradise’s design. “The trail, showcasing the natural beauty of the outskirts of Austin City Limits, will eventually lead to downtown Austin, “so you can walk, bike or kayak,” Musk said.

Additionally, Musk indicated that Tesla may develop “small electric Tesla boats with a retro-futuristic Victorian design”.

Some of Musk’s Twitter followers also showed what could potentially happen from the details the CEO provided:

There have been plenty of renders of potential Tesla boats in the past, but the company has never formally committed to making a watercraft, despite what you can read or see online. Musk has talked about it in the past, but Tesla has been very busy revamping its current product lineup, manufacturing, and prepping its two new production plants. It is unlikely that there will be any development in relation to the Tesla boat for at least a few years.

It’s not too far-fetched to think that Musk would be interested, too. After all, he still owns his Lotus Espirit S1, the underwater vehicle from the 1977 James Bond movie, “The Spy Who Loved Me.” Musk also said during the 2019 shareholders meeting that, “You can actually have a submarine car – it’s technically possible. I think the market for it will be small. Small but enthusiastic. It’s a little distracting.” Will be gonna happen, but maybe we make it as a show car.”
